CONGRATULATIONS
Local Knebworth violinist Katriona Gilmore (Guilhaumaud), has been nominated for a 2010 BBC Radio 2 Folk Award - in the Horizon Award for Best Newcomer category. The Awards Show is, Monday 01 Feb 2010 and will be broadcast at 7pm on BBC Radio 2 on Wednesday 03 Feb 2010.

SAD NEWS
Don Fowler advises - "Sorry to inform you, but John Wallace, ex frontman with Ultimate passed away on Sunday after a long illness. ...his funeral hasn't been announced yet. Once again another person from my past leaves a lot of good memories. I did actually speak to John just over a week ago... I could hear in his voice he was in a bad way, but even so, I was a bit shocked to get the news."

Colin Frechter passes on this news: "Kay Garner (session singer that I worked with a lot) and great mate sadly died recently (2007). Also session drummer Bobby Graham on 14 Sep 09."

concerning the former guitarist with popular local 60s R & B band 'Bumps In The Night'
Sadly; Brian Griffiths died last Tuesday. His funeral is this Friday (30th Jan 2009 in Kettering). He was a good guy; died way before his time. Regards

Sad News
Robert 'Bob' Downer, local WGC singer/guitarist has died. Bob was heavily involved with the recent Hop Reunion, performing with BlueNotes at the event. We have lost a wonderful friend.
